The City Market runs from April-December, so I’ve been shopping solely at the grocery store. This girl can’t wait until it opens for the 2014 season April 5th! Buy local, eat fresh!
Two weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to be part of Wisdom Oak Winery‘s (W.O.W.) first Winemaker’s Dinner. From beginning to end, it was an experience that satisfied both the visual and physical appetite! Each course was prepped by the head chef, Dean Maupin from C & O Restaurant and paired with a wine from the vineyard. If you know me, you know that I have a Charlottesville bucket list and visiting the winery has been on my list before the list even existed!
When I came upon the Facebook post about the dinner, I purchased tickets without hesitation. I can’t begin to describe how amazing everything was so I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

Below, are the pictures I captured with my iPhone. I brought my dslr but I decided to leave it in the car.
Greg and I with gracious hosts, Jerry and Melanie of W.O.W. Such fun and welcoming folks!
If you’re wanting to visit W.O.W., they are running a great deal on a wine tour for two or four people on Amazon. Check it out, only a few hours left!
We went Belmont a few weeks ago just to poke around and uncovered the most quaint (and delicious) little BBQ spot, Belmont BBQ. We ate a rack of ribs and ordered the ‘Slop Bucket’…Interesting name but it was amazing layer upon layer of Southern goodness.
I’m beginning to find it more fun to just leave the house and wonder, something I never did prior to moving here. Here are a few shots. Enjoy!
The mama and baby birds who camped out in the nook of our porch for the summer. Freeloaders.
Mom and Aunt Cathy came to C’Ville for President’s Day Weekend! It was great having them here and we stayed pretty busy. Busy as in eating from-scratch cupcakes, shopping, and more eating. Bliss.
Guess who brought her gourmet cupcakes? Drool.
A store-bought cupcake that was just meh…Cute though!
